Fluffy Fleischmann’s Yeast lemon sweet rolls with tangy lemon cream cheese frosting, perfect for breakfast or dessert. Inspired by Southern traditions and quick-rise yeast for easy baking.

Ingredients

2 ¼ tsp Fleischmann’s Platinum Yeast

¾ cup warm water (110°F)

½ cup whole milk

⅓ cup sugar

1 tsp kosher salt

4 cups all-purpose flour

6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

1 tbsp lemon zest

½ cup lemon cake mix (optional)

1 box instant lemon pudding mix

¾ cup citrus sugar (for filling)

8 oz cream cheese (for frosting)

2 cups powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp whole milk (for frosting)

Instructions

1. Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 tsp sugar; let sit 5 minutes.

2. Combine flour, sugar, salt, milk, and butter in a stand mixer; add yeast mixture.

3. Knead with dough hook for 7 minutes until smooth.

4. Cover and let rise for 60 minutes.

5. Roll dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle; spread with citrus sugar and lemon zest.

6. Roll tightly, slice into 13 rolls, and place in a greased baking dish.

7. Let rise for 45–60 minutes.

8. Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes until golden.

9. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, lemon zest, and milk for frosting.

10. Spread frosting over warm rolls.

Notes

For make-ahead rolls, refrigerate shaped rolls overnight.

Freeze unbaked rolls for up to 1 month.
